Once you have installed a map it can be viewed without any network connection. So download your maps before you leave home, and then don't worry about needing cellular or WiFi coverage.
Map downloads are free - all you pay is the initial price of the app.

Important Notes
- It can take a few minutes to download and install each map. This depends in part on the speed of your network connection, but after downloading there is an "install" step for about 15% of maps that typically takes two or three minutes. Once installed, however, operation is significantly faster and smoother than map apps that fetch data as required over the network.
- The app is still fairly new and we plan to add more features in the future. In particular, note that there is no track recording or waypoint facility.
